There’s more to spring than cleaning. It’s a time of renewal, so why not upgrade a few things in your home to give it a fresh look for a reasonable price?
Lighting Fixtures
You might not look at your lighting fixtures that much, they are above you after all. Many spring cleaning tips will tell you to pay attention to ceiling scones and such while cleaning, what’s better than just tearing them out and putting in something you really love? So get rid of those ugly 80s fixtures that came with the house and find something you’ll go out of your way to look at every day.
Brighten Up the Main Room
Whatever your main gathering space is, be it the kitchen, dining room, family room, etc. up it up from its winter dreariness. Lots of homeowners don’t realize how long they have had the same paint color on their walls for. So pick out a new color, open up the windows and take a Saturday to paint the room. Once it’s dry you can rearrange the furniture and add some seasonal flowers to make it look new.
Spruce Up the Windows
You could be surprised how dramatic a change cleaning up your windows can make. Wash your window panes on both sides and chip off peeling paint, then touch up or repaint the frame. Hang up sheer curtains that will showcase your sparkling windows as well as let in plenty of spring sunshine.
If you want to “clean” more of your home, consider wiping down your computer screen and keyboard and use canned air to get gunk out from between the keys. Do a quick run through of the files on your computer and phone and delete the things that you always scroll through but never need.
